Sure, the tall ships, 19th century whalers, beautiful cruise ships, naval ships, have all been the subject of drawings, paintings and novels in the past. I never realized how beautiful these tugs, the work horses of the harbors, really are until I came across this book. And, I came across this book of beautiful illustrations quite by accident. I was researching tug boat design for a book I'm writing in which one of the characters hides out in a tug boat.I hope that the Mattson brothers will follow it up with a collection of stories regarding their experiences working in this field.

TUGBOAT GRAPHICS AND ILLUSTRATIONS is another Great book authored by Robert Mattsson. This man is very talented in drawing, model building, etc. The book shows many illustrations in excellent detail of modern and classic tugboats. Anyone that may be interested in tugs will enjoy this wonderful book.THAT REMINDS ME: SHIP YARD & TUG BOAT STORIES, also authored by Mr. Mattsson, may be another Excellent book to consider reading. It is packed with a lot of fun filled stories of Mr. Mattson's experiences both ashore and afloat.I have both of these books in my library, and I have enjoyed both of them to the fullest. I would highly recommend these two books to tugboat enthusiasts, anyone working in the towing and maritime industries, or to someone looking for just something different to read of interest.

If you are tugboat enthusiast, this book will be of interest to you. I downloaded it to my kindle fire HD and use it when I go tug spotting. I found the section on tug stack insignias to be an excellent resource for identifying the varied tug companies. Then I go to tugboatinformation.com to find the individual tugs of that company.
