I have long been a fan of The Lonely Planet guidebooks, but they should not market this book for the Kindle. It is not formatted properly for the Kindle or the app on my iPhone. As it is now, this book is impossible to read. I have looked for a way to return the product or contact the sellers but without any luck.

This is an amazingly huge book, alphabetical listings, 477 pages long, and it weighs 8 pounds. The photographs are very good, and there's information on each country (but not as much as I would like, as each country only has 2 pages each). This is definitely a book for a library, or on a desk. It's a good starter to see what countries are, but you'll need more information if you want to visit them.

I was given this book as a gift several years ago and I absolutely love it. Every time I travel I write an entry in the book on the page of the country I visited. My goal is to visit all seven continents and as many countries as I can. When looking for ideas for my next vacation, I look at the book for inspiration. I bought this book recently for my daughter who is on a Rotary Youth Exchange Program and has just begun what will probably be a lifetime of travel and adventure. I know she will love her copy as much as I love my copy.

Very well made book, but is more of a coffee table book than an actual resource book. The images take up 70% of the page, with the remaining 30% giving very brief descriptors of what to do in each country. Not exactly what I was looking for, but it is still a beautiful image book.

I love this book! It is a beautiful book with beautiful pictures and nice tips. It is not overwhelming and it looks great on the coffee table :-) I gave one to my 18 year old niece who wants to travel Europe and South America and she absolutely loved it. Said it was her favorite Christmas gift and that even includes the electronics that she received:-)

Bought this as a gift for my travel-planning boyfriend. It is MUCH larger than I thought it would be...like a coffee table book (my fault for not checking dimensions, but geesh). However, the photos are lovely and the information is really well presented. :)

I've been using my Bible more recently and had originally purchased Majestic Bible Tabs Lavender. I had great success with those and wanted to get more tabs to put in the two other Bibles I own. I ended up purchasing these rose nouveau tabs, along with Majestic Traditional Gold-Edged Bible Tabs.These tabs are perfect for bigger Bibles and the one I put these in measures about 9 1/2 inches tall. This package of tabs contains 72 foil-edged tabs and the books of the Bible are printed on both sides. The tabs are pink with a floral design on them and the rose-color foil edges add a beautiful accent. Each tab measures about one inch wide by 1/4 inch high. There are a total of six sheets of tabs for the books in the Old and New Testaments, along with some extra tabs for Notes, Special, Concordance, Index, Old and New Testaments, Maps, and Life Verse. Please note, these tabs won't work well for Catholic Bibles since they don't contain blank tabs for the additional books in that Bible. There are detailed instructions and a guide included in this package to help you attach the tabs. These tabs are made in China.I've now successfully attached three sets of these tabs, in different colors, and here are some tips I've discovered:- I definitely wouldn't rush since these tabs are like stickers and, once they are fully stuck on the thin Bible pages, they may be difficult to fix. Before you attach both clear sticky pieces, you MAY be able to gently remove them and adjust as necessary. I've been able to do this with no problems.- When you start a new sheet of tabs, fold along the foil edges BEFORE removing the tabs and attaching them. This will make it easier to fold them over when you attach them.- I've found it's easiest to pull the tabs off the sheet by peeling the colored part off first instead of the clear parts. This will help prevent the tabs from ripping.- Use the guide to help you attach the tabs and, if you ever forget which tab number you are on (e.g. 4,5,6...), just look back at your previous tab and count down to find which number you will use next.- The tabs will always be attached to the pages on the right side, regardless of where the beginning of the book starts. Sometimes my tabs are attached to the title page and sometimes they are on the page with the first couple of chapters.- If your Bible contains words that go to the edges of the pages, don't worry about these tabs covering them up. The only parts that are actually attached to the pages are the clear sticky tabs so you can still easily read your Bible.- After you've attached a tab and it looks straight enough, carefully make sure there is only one page attached and fold over the tab to the other side of the page. Once the tabs are in place, I always press them firmly down.- When I'm opening my Bible using these tabs, I don't pull on the tabs themselves. Instead, I find the book I want, slide my finger in, and open my Bible that way.I've now applied three sets of these tabs and they have all worked well for me! I love the colors and design choices available since everyone has different personalities. I feel these are very affordable and easy to apply, once you get the hang of it. It generally takes me about an hour to apply all of my tabs and I am pleased with the results. These tabs make reading my Bible easier, more efficient, and fun! If you are looking for tabs for your Bible, these are a great option. They won't work for Catholic Bibles but there are some options for those too. I highly recommend these tabs!

Haven't had them in my bible for a month and the shiny pink foil is already scraping off. Can't imagine how they will look after a few more months.

Very pretty... but the pink foil edge scrapes off way too easily. Someone else wrote a review saying this, but I assumed that they were probably taking it many places and stuffing it in a bag or something. I was wrong. I took my brand new bible with these brand new tabs to church for the first time today and the foil has already rubbed off a little on some of the tabs. This kills me because I am a perfectionist and like to keep my things looking nice and new for as long as possible. I was very careful with my bible and it still happened on DAY ONE!They look so nice when they are new though. If I had known, I think I would've found a way to laminate the edges.

These tabs are gorgeous! I love everything about them. Please note that they are not compatible with a Catholic Bible. This company does have other tabs that include the Catholic books. I called customer service and was given a refund right away so I could buy new tabs that will work. I highly recommend these tabs if you do not have a Catholic Bible.

These seem nice quality tabs. The color goes perfectly with my NIV Journal the Word women's Bible. The tabs were easy to attach using the guide. Just needs a lite touch till you are sure it's aligned to your satisfaction. I was able to gently unpeel parts if it contacted with the thin Bible pages before I was ready. Had no tearing. But I will make very clear, these are NOT to be adhered then moved. These are meant to be placed once then left on. But if you move quickly and ever-so-gently, if it attaches in a unwanted spot, you should be able to move. Very pleased and would repurchase. Ps. They have a coating on them that should protect them from ripping with normal, gentle use.

I wanted to add tabs to my new study Bible, and when I saw these, I had to get them! Beautiful pink color, shiny foil accents - what's not to love? They were pretty simple to put on, especially when I used a couple of small strips of washi tape to temporarily hold the guide on the page to keep it in place while sticking on the tab. They look great, and with reasonable care not to manhandle the pages, shouldn't rip. Definitely recommended.

I bought these to match my Bible. Pink is my favorite color and these are so pretty period very easy to put on and they are secure. The only thing I did not like was the fact that for the book of Deuteronomy it is not spelled out completely. It says Deuteron. Other than that these are wonderful and pretty and they match my Bible so well.

I'm scared of regular expressions. They vex me constantly at work whether trying to figure out someone else's Apache RewriteRules or Perl or just trying myself to do mildly clever things in vi and sed. They are a headache.A coworker let me browse his copy of this wonderful little book and I was hooked. I actually tried to buy one that day on the way home, but they were out of stock and so I permitted Amazon to ship me one.In addition to brief explanations of the different types of regexes in the wild (based on the comprehensive Mastering title, also from ORA), there are detailed quick references to all of the different implementations including several common languages (Perl, PHP, C#, and several others) and software packages (including sed, Apache, vi and many others). All of their various quicks and "features" are explained briefly and there are some examples.No one hacking around in Unix or doing much programming should be without this book, unless they are already a regex wizard, and I think even they'd find it handy.

Pocket references are not meant to teach you anything from the beginning, but to be everyday references in known and new environments. In other words, if you don't know regular expressions, then go to "Mastering Regular Expressions". If you're still here, then you'll get a cheat sheet on steroids for languages ranging from bug-prone JavaScript to the King and Queen of robustness, Perl and Python. Although everything claims to be PCRE these days, particular examples in every language available is a plus for anyone. A must for any type of user input validation.

If you ever play with text files to produce reports, speadsheets, etc ... this book is for you ... of course, if you have never used regexp before, grab a more comprehensive teaching book ... but you will find yourself trying to remember the arcane syntax and this book can help. I leave it open on my desktop when working in scripts.

This is the book I use more often than any other programming/technology book. I use several different languages and tools, and I have bookmarks by the entries for .NET, Java, vi and Perl. I know regular expressions well enough where I don't always need the book, but when trying to remember which versions need the backslash before the "newer" functionality, and other differences between versions or subtleties of some of the less-used syntax, I am glad I have a copy at work and another copy at home.

Do you swap languages to often and don't remember exactly how to do regex? This is the book! Very useful. Just go to the language section, see the symbol table an go to the example and you're done. This is by far my most used book. The only thing that it needs is a section for javascript. I hope that it will be added in a next edition.

Useful quick reference for those times when you're working from a command line and don't have "a" window open, let alone the ability to open a"nother" one.

I naively assumed that the second edition would include Perl 5.10, as they came out the same year. But this is not the case and the changes in regex support between 5.8 and 5.10 were significant enough that this is a big hit for this book. It's now 4 years old and while I can't speak for other languages, I'll be surprised if .NET regex support hasn't also evolved in that time.
